Kimura Shigenari's Residence Site

A stone marker (Kyoto City Ishibumi database no. KA017, erected 1912) records this as the former residence of Kimura Shigenari (?–1615), the young retainer of Toyotomi Hideyori. Shigenari fell in the summer siege of Osaka, remembered for riding into battle with incense burned into his helmet. Yet linking Shigenari himself to a Jurakudai-era mansion is debated (to be confirmed); here it is recorded as a place associated with him by tradition.
