Presumed House of Uesugi Kagekatsu

A stone marker raised in 2009, its north face inscribed with the presumed residence of Naoe Kanetsugu and its west face that of Uesugi Kagekatsu. Local place-names (Nagao-cho, Naoke-cho) are said to derive from Kagekatsu's former surname Nagao and from Kanetsugu's Naoe (tradition; accounts vary). Jurakudai was demolished a mere eight years after completion; today a small stone keeps the memory of this samurai quarter.
