This stone points toward a mountain shrine to Shichimen Tennyo, a goddess who guards the Lotus Sutra. By tradition, she appeared before Nichiren, a Buddhist teacher, as a young woman, transformed into a dragon, and vowed to protect the faithful—the waymarker's destination begins with that transformation.
