Takenobu Inari and Ryoma's Tree

A Sanjo-Omiya shrine where Sakamoto Ryoma is said to have carved the character 'ryu' (dragon) into a hackberry tree, longing to reunite with his wife Oryo (the tree fell in 2025). Said to date from the Heian era, this small shrine keeps their Bakumatsu tale.
