Kuga-jinja (Yatagarasu)

久我神社(八咫烏)

North (Rakuhoku)|紫竹

An Engishiki-listed shrine and outer auxiliary of Kamigamo, enshrining Kamo no Taketsunumi-ancestral deity of the Kamo clan, identified with the three-legged crow Yatagarasu. Because the crow guided Emperor Jimmu's eastern campaign, it draws prayers for safe travel and flight; its grounds are a city-designated historic site. Once called 'Omiya,' it gave Omiya-dori its name.
