Seiryo-ji Issaikyozo (Sutra Repository / Rinzo)
清凉寺 一切経蔵
❀
The sutra repository of Seiryo-ji (Saga Shakado). At its center stands an octagonal revolving case, the rinzo, holding a Ming-edition Buddhist canon; turning it once is said to earn the merit of reading the whole canon, and here visitors may turn it themselves. The revolving case is traced to Fu Daishi of the Southern Liang (by tradition), whose three-figure image—father and two sons—sits before it. The present hall is held to be an 1885 rebuilding.
