Presumed Site of Saigo's Kyoto Home
A stone monument beside the former site of Shokoku-ji's seven-story pagoda. In the shogunate's closing years, Saigo Takamori is said to have kept a residence in this neighborhood, Tonodan-cho, though its exact site remains conjecture.
