Presumed Site of Saigo's Kyoto Home
A stone monument stands beside the former site of a seven-story pagoda. By tradition, Saigo Takamori, a leader in the fall of the shogunate, kept a residence somewhere in this neighborhood, but its exact position remains conjectural.
