Former Mitsui Family Shimogamo Villa

A villa of the wealthy Mitsui merchant family (an Important Cultural Property): a Meiji-era main house relocated here in 1925 and crowned with a lookout tower. In its garden stand two aphananthe (muku) trees leaning together, known as the 'wedded trees' (meoto-no-ki).
