Nue Daimyojin (Nue Pond)

Where, in the late Heian period, Minamoto no Yorimasa is said to have shot down the Nue, a chimerical monster tormenting the imperial palace. The Nue-ike pond, where he reportedly washed the blood-stained arrowhead, remains in Nijo Park, with Nue Daimyojin shrine beside it.
