Michizane's Legendary Birthplace

A small Tenman-gu said to be where Sugawara no Michizane was born and given his first bath. Several shrines in Kyoto claim the same, so his exact birthplace is uncertain; this one stands on the site of the Sugawara family residence, where the well of his first bath remains.
