Stone marker of the Botanical Garden North site
植物園北遺跡石標
☀
A stone marker for a large settlement site spread across the area north of the botanical garden. Uncovered during sewer construction in 1979-81, it yielded traces of continuous habitation-centered on the late Yayoi and Kofun periods but reaching through Nara, Heian, medieval and early-modern times-including many pit dwellings and post-hole buildings.
