Shiga Naoya's Yamashina Home
Novelist Shiga Naoya lived here for about eighteen months between 1923 and 1925, and the house is said to have become the setting for “Yamashina no Kioku.” The house is gone, leaving only a riverside marker—and his masterwork “A Dark Night's Passing” was completed elsewhere, in Nara.
