Kitaoji Bridge

A bridge over the Kamo River built in 1933, its center widened into a 'view balcony'-a perfect rest stop for a takeout cup. Follow the river north and you reach Kamigamo Shrine, whose conical sacred mountain Koyama is said to be where the deity Kamo Wakeikazuchi descended; from the bridge the Kitayama ridgeline opens out.
